Overview

We're seeking a highly experienced education hiring professional to deliver virtual career-readiness sessions for education-major seniors at partner colleges and universities, including Columbia University, Emory University, and Bates College. This is a high-visibility contract role - candidates should bring real hiring-side authority and be able to speak to the full hiring process inside and out. What You'll Do: - Lead virtual sessions demystifying the K-12 hiring process for soon-to-be educators - Break down differences in hiring across public, charter, private/independent, and international schools - Cover application timing, interview formats, and how to interpret employer responses - Explain contract types, renewal/non-renewal deadlines, and compensation structures - Provide insider guidance most college career centers don't cover Candidates Should Be Able to Speak To: - State licensure/certification requirements and reciprocity across states - Alternative certification routes (e.g., Teach for America, Transition to Teaching) - The full hiring cycle: demo lessons, reference checks, background checks, and typical timelines - Contract structures: at-will vs. multi-year, non-renewal deadlines, pension vs. 401(k) - Total compensation beyond salary (housing stipends for international roles, tuition remission, etc.) - New teacher induction/mentorship programs and what to evaluate before accepting a role - Evaluation systems tied to student growth data - How to professionally exit a role that isn't a good fit without damaging references - Job search strategy: reading postings for red flags, working with recruiters, and networking beyond career services Who We're Looking For: - Former school administrator, principal, or HR/talent recruiter with real hands-on hiring experience across multiple school types - Strong virtual presentation and facilitation skills - Experience with international teacher recruiting a plus - Passionate about giving new educators the insider knowledge career services often can't provide This is a contract, session-based role with flexible scheduling.

Pay: $200.00 - $350.00 per hour
