Company Overview:

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Warehouse Associate Team Leader to join our metro food production facility. In this role, you will support the Warehouse Team Leader in supervising inventory controllers, receivers, shipping clerks, and warehouse team members. You will contribute to ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence while maintaining Whole Foods Market's high standards for food quality and sustainability.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Warehouse Associate, you will provide day-to-day leadership and guidance to the warehouse team while supporting compliance, production, and distribution goals.

  • Lead warehouse operations by assigning tasks, guiding team members, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist leadership in ensuring compliance with USDA, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, FDA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Support analysis of production, labor, and inventory reports to meet facility targets.
  • Create purchase orders, input cost updates, and use supplier portals for placing and receiving orders.
  • Assist with managing expenses, reconciling invoices, and collaborating with accounting teams on GL entries.
  • Oversee purchasing and replenishment of raw materials and bulk commodities for production.
  • Ensure accurate completion of receiving logs, food safety, and equipment safety documentation.
  • Inspect incoming products for quality, sanitation, and temperature compliance.
  • Assist with outbound distribution to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods to stores and customers.
  • Support interviewing, selecting, training, developing, and counseling of warehouse team members.
  • Collaborate with leadership and HR on team member relations, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and respectful work environment that supports teamwork and mutual respect.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 18 months of food production facility experience and 6 months of supervisory experience in food manufacturing.
  • Proven success in leadership within the food manufacturing or warehouse industry.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, OSHA, and environmental health and safety standards.
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of ERP processes within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of financials, including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and adaptable to facility needs.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Passion for food and commitment to nourishing people and the planet.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Adherence to dress code and use of PPE in the production kitchen.
  • Ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Work in wet, dry, refrigerated (<40°F), and hot (>90°F) environments.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
  • May require ladder use.
